President Joe Biden has been the subject of a lot of scrutiny regarding his physical and mental health. We certainly know his predecessor and potential (hopefully not) successor Donald Trump keeps questioning the president’s abilities, even though he seems to have even more problems himself. Trump is, after all, no stranger to delusional thinking.
Trump held a rally in Richmond, Virginia, on Saturday in the lead-up to this week’s Super Tuesday, where more than a dozen states will vote in Republican primaries, Newsweek reports. And of course, Trump is the GOP front-runner and he’s expected to easily win the nomination, which means he and Biden will face each other in November.
So naturally Trump is heaping more and more criticism on Biden, who at 81, has been constantly scrutinized over his age and mental fitness. Biden is the oldest president we’ve ever had and his detractors continually pick apart his verbal gaffes and physical mishaps — such as the time he stumbled on the steps of Air Force One, and say this is proof of his incapability to serve.
Special Counsel Robert Hur worsened the situation after bringing Biden’s age into the spotlight by remarking the president is “an elderly man with a poor memory.” Biden and a number of people who know him say his “memory is fine,” and deny this claim.

Biden has also been criticized by fellow Democrats, including strategist David Axelrod, who has suggested he needs to step aside for a new candidate to take turn.
“Who thinks he’s going to make it to November 5,” Trump said about Biden’s speech. “Let’s do a poll. This is a poll of people with common sense, you know I don’t even say conservatives so much, you’re conservative but what are we really? We are people with common sense….”
A Trump spokesperson told Newsweek: “He was clearly referencing whether Democrats will eventually replace Biden as their nominee.”
I’m not going to kid people here. There are times I wish another Democrat had stepped up, but that isn’t happening. And no matter what the critics say about Biden, he’s still far sharper than Trump. And plenty of critics have also suggested that Trump, 77, is dealing with cognitive decline that could make him incapable of serving. At his speech on Saturday, Trump goofed a number of times, even seeming to mix up Biden and former President Barack Obama. He also notably slurred his words.
“And [Russian President Vladimir] Putin has so little respect for Obama that he’s starting to throw around the ‘nuclear’ word. He’s starting to talk nuclear weapons, today,” Trump said.
That’s kind of a big goof, you know?
And if Trump is elected again, you can bet the next four years will be a revenge-a-thon. Trump will target his enemies. Forget about running the country. He doesn’t care about that. He’s a would-be dictator who wants the heads of whomever he thinks betrayed him.
As for Biden, I think most of what he’s trying to do is for the good of the country. The bipartisan infrastructure bill he engineered is creating jobs and this article from Politico tells us what Biden has done for the country during his term. I can’t imagine Trump doing most of these things because he’s all Trump all the time.
So I’m hopeful for Biden and for the rest of us but Trump looms large and I find this extremely worrisome.
Trump shows every indication that he wants to be a dictator.
